Try to take off work Friday 29th October to enjoy this joyous 1st day in the dust, and if you can manage to stay the Sunday too we promise a special, intimate affair! IMPORTANT - once you hit the R355 dirt road you will lose cell-phone signal so PREPARE YOURSELF and know where you’re going! Screenshot any online data you may need. Treat this as a blessing as there is NO WI-FI or CELLPHONE RECEPTION at this event. Immediacy is the key and you have all the time before the dirt road starts to be prepared for the lack of it. This road eats tyres so make sure you have at least one spare tyre (tyre shops at the Tankwa Padstal/halfway house and at the Tankwa Tented Camp - should you run into trouble). Travel in convoy if possible so that in case of a stuck car, your friends can send for help/new tyre.

You will drive straight for 117km on this dirt road (1,5-2 hours). Drive carefully on that road... Don’t speed! Don’t overtake if visibility is hampered! Take a spare wheel and know how to use it. The condition of the road is the best it has been in many years-only the first few kilometres are quite bumpy. A 4x4 is a luxury not a necessity. Just after crossing a small bridge you’ll see the TTC sign (on your left) and you’ll turn right here onto the pathway to the ‘Source’ (DO NOT turn right anytime before this bridge as there is a confusing sign towards Tankwa Karoo National Park prior to the bridge/often misled here by Google Maps). After a few kilometres and passing through two gates you have arrived.

Upon sight of the U.F.O. take a right at The Tankwa Padstal (40 km from the beginning of the R355) on your right side to buy your ICE. There is ice for sale on site too for re-stocking during the event - the best time to leave CT for Tankwa Tented Camp is 5-6am (to avoid traffic) and enjoy the sunrise on the dirt road. Gate opens 10h00 Friday and music will start 12h00 at That DAM Dancefloor.
